One of the most stunning landscapes on the planet - Mt. St. Helens is like nowhere you’ve been before. A must-see attraction, our all-inclusive small-group tour (ten travelers or fewer) from Seattle is the ideal way to visit the National Monument. A lovely, professional naturalist guide will tailor your day to you! Visit the Johnston Ridge observatory, choose from walks and hikes, and learn about the volcano's infamous 1980 eruption. Enjoy coffee, tea, & breakfast bakery, a gourmet picnic lunch accompanied by local wine, and snacks and beverages throughout the day.

If you're staying in downtown Seattle (hotel, AirBNB, rental, etc) we'll pick you up! We'll call you the day prior to the trip to arrange a specific time at your accommodations. We can also arrange pickups near SeaTac or Tacoma upon request.

Tour one of Seattle's top attractions, the impressive Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument, on this full-day small-group tour. Your tour begins with a downtown Seattle hotel pickup and a light breakfast including pastries and hot beverages. During the 2.5 hour drive from Seattle to Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument , your naturalist guide will tell you about the infamous volcanic eruption of 1980, which destroyed nearly 230 square miles (370 km) of forest and covered eastern Washington in volcanic ash. Learn about the ongoing reforestation project and discover how well the ecosystem is recovering from the eruption.

Once in the Volcanic Monument, you’ll traverse the barren landscapes, stopping for a peaceful hike along the Hummocks Trail or to take in the still blue waters of Coldwater Lake. At Johnston Ridge Observatory you’ll embark on an interpretive walk along the famous Eruption Trail. The trail offers sweeping views of the blast zone and crater and teems with stunning purple lupine and other flowers in the mid-to-late summer.

Our trip includes a fresh, local, organic lunch (with local wine!) while looking out over the dramatic landscape. We'll bring sparkling water, snacks and water for the day! We'll pay all entrance fees too.

Myth and magic come to life on the Tillicum Excursion to Blake Island State Park, located 8 miles from Seattle's waterfront. Here, you have the opportunity to learn about the Native American culture, enjoy a delicious buffet featuring traditionally prepared alder fire-roasted fish, and watch a Native American storytelling performance. Take time after the meal and show to explore the beaches and trails that surround Tillicum. This is a trip the whole family will enjoy!

The 4-hour adventure on the Tillicum Excursion to Blake Island State Park begins at Pier 54 on Seattle's central waterfront. Relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery during the 45-minute narrated cruise from downtown Seattle.

When you arrive to Tillicum, make your way up to the longhouse along the pathway strewn with clam shells bleached by the sun. Before you enter the longhouse, take a moment and enjoy an appetizer of clams and nectar. Be sure to crush the empty clam shells when you are finished as it is the tradition to help preserve the path!

Inside the longhouse, watch as whole fish is cooked over an alder-wood fire on cedar stakes in the traditional Northwest Coast Indian style. As you finish your buffet meal, the lights dim while the myth and magic come to life in the spellbinding performance featuring Tillicum dancers.

After the show, you have approximately 45-minutes of free time to browse the gift gallery featuring artwork of local artisans or stroll along the pleasant beaches and forest trails.

Finally, board the boat and enjoy the relaxing cruise back to Seattle.
